US steel sector delegation visits GPH Ispat plant

CHATTOGRAM, Mar 18: A delegation of the American steel sector visited the GPH Ispat factory at Sitakunda in Chattogram on Saturday.
The delegation was led by Tatsuya Fukuyama, General Manager of Vinton Steel Japan, and Eduardo Gonzalez, General Manager of Vinton Steel USA.
After the visit, the leaders of the delegation said that GPH Ispat quantum electric arc furnace technology-rich plant was a reference plant. They came to experience how they were making world-class steel products with the latest technology, they said.
The delegation visited this world-class project of steel sector under the supervision of Primetals, the technology subsidiary of the plant. GPH Group Chairman and Managing Director Mohammad Jahangir Alam was also present.
GPH Ispat Additional Managing Director Mohammad Almas Shimul and Executive Director (Finance and Business Development) Kamrul Islam FCA welcomed the delegation.
Mohammad Almas Shimul said, "We feel fortunate that the world-famous Vinton Steel delegation visited our plant.
During the visit, Primetals Technologies Austria Vice President (Global Business Unit) Josef Gahleitner and Primetals Austria Long Rolling PTUS Mark Shore's Media Advisor Ovik Osman, Chief Operating Officer T Mohan Babu, and Head of Plant Srinivasa Maduluri Rao were also present.
