USAID Asst Administrator for Asia due Monday

The US development agency’s Assistant Administrator for Asia Anne Aarnes arrives in Dhaka on Monday. USAID Bangladesh said Aarnes would visit development projects in Khulna, Baagerhaat, Munshiganj, Jessore during her 4-day stay. Aarnes is in charge of USAID's development programmes across Asia, except Afghanistan and Pakistan, comprising more than 20 countries and reaching more than half of the world’s population. Before taking up her current assignment, Aarnes served as USAID Mission Director in Pakistan and Jordan, and USAID Deputy Mission Director in Egypt and Bangladesh. In Washington DC, she was posted as USAID’s Senior Deputy Assistant Administrator for the Middle East, according to bdnews24.com.
