Use of antibiotics

Tuesday, 14 January 2020

Sales of antibiotics by medicine shops without prescription by licensed physicians are very high. Around 1.5 million people are using antibiotics in the country every day and most of them are doing so without consultation with qualified physicians, according to media reports.
Many people suffer from various complicated diseases and they often use short-cut ways for healing. Instead of visiting physicians, they go to medicine shops and ask the sellers to provide medicines including antibiotics.
Raising awareness about harmful use of drugs specially antibiotics is essential for protecting generations from developing resistance to medicine including antibiotics. There should be proper regulations in this regard.
