Using revenue stamp during payment a must

The government has urged all to follow the relevant clause of the stamp act and use the 5.00 taka revenue stamp in case of payments against every debt or claim for any amount above Tk 200. An official handout said Tuesday non-use of this stamp during such transactions was a punishable offence. It is noticed that some individuals and institutions did not use revenue stamps for payments below Tk 500, but it was compulsory to use the stamps in case of payments above Tk 200, the handout said.
