Utilising the new taxi service as airport taxi service

It is quite unfortunate that even though more than seven million Bangladeshis are living abroad and everyday many foreigners are visiting Bangladesh, the Dhaka Airport lacks a reliable and international standard taxi service. The lack of a reliable taxi service forces most of the arriving passengers to arrange a pick-up service in advance. However, it is not always possible for every passenger to book a pick-up service in advance. In such cases the passengers have to rely on the existing unreliable taxi services at the airport. The government has recently introduced an international standard taxi service in the capital. This service may become unpopular after some time as its fare may not be affordable to most people in the city for regular use. Hence, the service may remain underutilised. To ensure the best and optimum utilisation of this taxi service, it will be better if this service is also used as airport pick-up/drop-off service. Considering the fare of the taxi, its reliability and safe and secured service it provides, passengers will probably not mind to pay the high fare. To make it more convenient for passengers at the airport, the authorities may set up a booth there and have some taxis stand-by all the time.
