Uttara Bank doubles authorised capital, approves 100pc stock dividend

Uttara Bank Ltd enhanced its authorised capital from Tk 1.60 billion (160 crore) to Tk 3.20 billion. The bank also declared 100 per cent stock dividend for the year 2008.
The decisions were taken at its extraordinary general meeting (EGM) and 26th annual general meeting respectively held at the Officers Club in the city Thursday.
Chairman of the board of directors of the bank Azharul Islam presided over both the meetings, said a press release.
The meeting also passed the Annual Report-2008 along with the annual profit and loss account.
Azharul Islam, Asif Rahman, Abul Barq Alvi, Syed ANM Wahed and Dewan Zahedur Rahman were elected directors of the bank uncontested.
Later Azharul Islam and Iftekharul Islam were elected chairman and vice chairman respectively of the board of directors unanimously in a meeting of the board held the same day
