
Uttara road blocked over child's death

Traffic movement on Rajlaxmi-Azampur road at Uttara remained suspended for four hours on Wednesday as the residents of Dakshinkhan area blocked the road demanding justice for a minor boy who was found dead in a water tank of a house in the area on Tuesday, reports UNB.
Locals alleged that when Rifat, 7, went to a house in the area for playing on Tuesday afternoon its owner Ajit Bosak beat him up severely, leaving him dead and then dumped his body in a water tank.
Being informed by people, police recovered the body.
Officer-in-charge of Dakkhinkhan Police Station Tapan Kumar Saha said a case was filed accusing the house owner and his wife with the police station on Tuesday night over the boy's death.
