Uttara University hosts 9th convocation

The ninth convocation of Uttara University was held at the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC) in the capital on Saturday, according to a statement.
The ceremony was presided over by Professor Dr. M Aminul Islam, special assistant (equivalent to state minister) of Ministry of Education, on behalf of Mohammed Shahabuddin, Chancellor of the university and President of Bangladesh.
Professor Dr. Mohammad Anwar Hossen, member of the University Grants Commission (UGC), was the chief guest.
Professor Dr. Abdul Hannan Chowdhury, Chairman of Grameen Bank and Vice-Chancellor (VC) of North South University; Prof. Dr. Eaysmin Ara Lekha, VC of Uttara University; and Prof. Dr. Gour Gobinda Goswami, pro-VC of Uttara University, spoke at the ceremony.
Uttara University's Registrar Kazi Mahiuddin expressed gratitude to all the guests.
A total of 3,497 students were formally awarded graduation and post-graduation degrees during the ninth convocation. Two students received the Chancellor's Gold Medal for outstanding academic performance, and 35 students were honoured with the Trustee, VC, and Dean's Awards.
