One of the leading local IT training institutes, UY Lab, has launched an online course aiming to provide quality training at home.
The organisation is also providing an opportunity, especially for women to develop themselves as efficient IT professionals at a minimal cost.
The launching ceremony was held recently at its head office in the city, said a press release.
"Students outside Dhaka could also get the opportunity to be trained at home. By taking online courses at home, the students' time would also be saved, as it will help avoid heavy traffic jams in the cities like Dhaka", Farhana A Rahman, founder and chairman of UY Lab, said.
She said, "We have a priority for female students who could avail this opportunity even from home.
"We provide more scholarships for women to help them enter the IT sector more. We have given 100 per cent scholarships to 950 women students so far, resulting in women developing their skills to become successful entrepreneurs and most of them are successfully working in the online marketplaces," she said.
Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the institute Shahadat Hossain said by taking online courses, students could enter the international market places.
They could get the online training at cheapest rate compared to that of other organisations, he claimed.
He said their online IT courses included graphic design, digital marketing, video editing, motion graphics, SEO with Google Adsense, web design and WordPress theme customization, WordPress theme customization with freelancing and architectural visualization.
Each course offers 18 to 25 live and recorded classes, he said.
The company started its journey in 2016 while it has so far trained more than 30,000 students. Most of the trained students are now working in various IT organisations or they are active in freelancing, he added.
