UZ Polls: BNP lodges complaints with EC

Wednesday, 19 March 2014

BNP on Wednesday lodged complaints with the Election Commission about the violation of polls code by the ruling party men in Jhenidah’s Harinakunda upazila election slated for March 23. BNP joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi lodged the complaints by sending a letter to the Commission through fax, said an official of the EC Secretariat. In the letter, BNP alleged that armed activists of ruling Awami League-supported candidates are attacking BNP supporters and intimidating voters by issuing various threats, violating the election code of conduct. The party requested the Commission to take necessary actions in this regard, according to a news agency.
