All the four events of the Popular Pharmaceutical Victory Day Tennis Competition advanced to the semi-final stages at the Ramna National Tennis Complex in the city Saturday, reports UNB.
In the men's singles, Amol Roy (NTC) beat Niranjan Ram (Hotel Sheraton) by 6-2, 6-2, Dipu Lal (Nordic Club) defeated Arvindu Fernandu
(International Club) by 6-3, 6-4, Alamgir Hossain (Nordic Club) beat Anwar Hossain (British Club) by 6-3, 6-3 while Ranjan Ram (NTC) outplayed Omar Faruk Sunny (BKSP) by 6-0, 6-2 to reach the semifinals.
In the women's singles, Shati Sarkar (NTC) beat Sharmin Islam (NTC) by 6-0, 6-1, Eco (BKSP) outplayed Suraka Rashid Suchona (NTC) by 6-0, 6-1, Ma Hi Ching (Bandarban) defeated Sadia (Narsinghi) by 6-0, 6-1 and Ayami (BKSP) beat Sarda Alam (NTC) by 6-0, 6-1 to move into the semifinals.
The boys' singles matches for the 16 years and 14 years age groups also moved into the semifinals on the day.
