Valiant freedom fighter Commando Khalilur Rahman's family has urged the government to support his treatment cost.
"Khalilur Rahman is now seriously ill due to a recent heart attack and he is also suffering from other chronic diseases," a statement issued by Commando Khalilur Rahman's family said.
It said since the family is unable to afford the treatment cost, the government should bear the responsibility considering the heroic role of Mr Rahman in the Liberation War of 1971.
Commando Khalilur Rahman authored six books on the role of naval forces in Bangladesh's Liberation War in 1971.
