Valuables worth Tk 10 million gutted in fire

Fire gutted wood, sewing machines and other valuables worth about Tk 10 million in two separate incidents in the city's Badda and Malibagh areas, reports UNB.
The first incident took place at about 5:30 am when a fire broke out from a saw mill. Fire Brigade sources said the fire originated from a mosquito coil and then spread to nearby saw mill and eight wood shops.
Six fire fighters units rushed to the spot and doused the flame at about 12:55 pm.
The estimated loss in the fire was about Tk 0.8 million. However, no casualty was reported in the incident.
In another incident, fire originated from electric short circuit inside a tailoring shop located at a 5-storey building at 585/A/C Malibagh Chowdhury Para at about 8:40 am.
One fire fighter unit rushed to the spot and doused the flame at about 9:25 am.
