Valuables worth Tk 1m gutted

A fire broke out at a dwelling house at Mirboxtula in Sylhet city on Sunday night burning down valuables worth more than one million taka. Fire service officials said the fire originated from an electric shot circuit at a room of the house of Abdul Halim in the area around 11:00pm and it soon engulfed entire house. On information, three fire fighting units rushed to the spot and doused the blaze after about one hour of frantic efforts. The extent of losses from the fire could exceed Tk 1 million, the affected house owner claimed, according to a news agency.
