Valuables worth Tk 1m looted

Robbers looted valuables worth Tk 1 million from a house at Balaganj upazila in Sylhet district on Tuesday. Locals said a gang of armed robbers, numbering 10-12, stormed the house of Shahjahan Miah at Mohammadpur village at about 2:00am by breaking open the door and held the inmates hostage at gunpoint. The bandits looted 13 tolas of gold ornament, cash Tk 200,000, mobile phone sets and other valuables worth Tk one million. Later, the hoodlums escaped with the booty. Wakil Uddin, officer-in-charge of Balaganj Police Station, confirmed the incident. A case was filed, according to UNB.
