Valuables worth Tk 2m looted from expat\\\'s house

Robbers looted valuables worth Tk 2 million from an expatriate’s house at Chhatak upazila in Sunamganj district on Wednesday night. Locals said a gang of 15-20 armed robbers stormed the house of expatriate Sirajul Islam at Badigaon village around 2:30 am by breaking open the door and held the inmates hostage at gunpoint. They looted 20 tolas of gold ornament, cash Tk 60,000, nine mobile phone sets and other valuables. Later, the bandits escaped with the booty. On information, police visited the spot. Shahjalal Munshi, officer-in-charge of Chhatak Police Station, confirmed the incident. A case was filed, according to UNB.
