Vast land in Gopalganj brought under Robi crops cultivation

GOPALGONJ Nov 19: A vast land has been brought under Robi crops cultivation programme in five upazilas of Gopalganj district, this season.
A total of 96,492 hectares of land has been brought under Robi crops cultivation with a production target of 390,260.5 tonnes in the district.
According to Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE) official sources, 75,880 hectares of land have been brought under Boro cultivation where 75,420 and 460 under local variety with a production target of 309,138 tonnes.
A total of 18,179 hectares of land in Sadar Upazila, 13,661 hectares in Moksudpur Upazila, 14,040 hectares in Kasiani Upazila, 21,650 hectares in Kotalipara Upazila and 8,350 hectares in Tungipara Upazila has been brought under Boro cultivation with a high production target.
A total of 3,845 hectares of land have been brought under lentil cultivation with a production target of 3,845 tonnes.
A total of 1,162 hectares of land have been brought under ground-nut cultivation with a production target of 2,092 tonnes.
A total of 4,641 hectares of land have been brought under mustard cultivation with a production target of 4,641 tonnes.
Vegetable is being cultivated on 3,623 hectares of land in the district with a production target of 57,968 tonnes.
