Vegetables, fish prices rise in Chittagong

CHITTAGONG, Oct 16: Prices of different kinds of vegetables and fishes have increased up to 10 to 20 per cent after the Eid-ul Fitr.
Trading sources said, the prices of the same have been increased as the supply of the items declined in the markets.
Pangash fish price has jumped to Tk 100 to Tk 110 per kg from its previous price range of Tk 50 to 60.
Middle-size Hilsa is now being sold at Tk 250 to Tk 300 per kg, koral Tk 220 to 250 per kg and Ruhit Tk 140 to Tk 160 per kg.
Besides, price of middle-size shrimp rose to Tk 350 per kg from its previous rate of Tk 250 and the sellers are now realising Tk 390 to 400 against selling up Chanda (white) of each kilogramme.
Meanwhile, sky rocketing price is being witnessed in the vegetable markets also. Potato, ladies finger and long bean are also being sold at Tk 18, 32 and 32 respectively. Price of patol and Kakrol has jumped to Tk 30 and 32 per kg respectively.
