Verdict copy sent to jail authorities

The copy of the verdict of Bangabandhu Murder Case has been sent to the home and law ministries, trial court, jail authorities and attorney general office, reports bdnews24.com.
Supreme Court (SC) registrar Md Shawkat confirmed it to journalists Monday.
The full 412-page verdict, delivered on Nov 19, was released Thursday.
The five Appellate Division judges upheld the High Court (HC) verdict on death sentences of five convicts in the case.
Justice Mohammed Tafazzul Islam handed down the final judgment while four other judges in agreement with the judgment gave their opinions.
Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the then president of the country, was killed along with his family members by a group of army officers on Aug 15, 1975.
A case was filed in 1996, 21 years after the murder. The trial court handed down death sentences to 15 convicts.
The HC later upheld death sentences of 12 convicts. Five detained convicts filed appeals to the Supreme Court.
