Verdict in DSA case against Adilur, Elan deferred to Sept 14

A Dhaka court on Thursday fixed September 14 for delivering the verdict in a case filed against rights body Odhikar's Secretary Adilur Rahman Khan and director Nasiruddin Elan for publishing a report about the death toll in clashes between police and Hefazat-e-Islam activists at Shapla Chattar in the city's Motijheel area in 2013, reports UNB.
The verdict was supposed to be delivered on Thursday.
But the court of Dhaka Cyber Tribunal Judge AM Zulfiqar Hayat deferred the pronouncement of the verdict as it was not ready, Jewel Mia, bench assistant of the concerned court, confirmed the matter.
Earlier, the verdict date was fixed after the arguments of the prosecution and the defense ended on August 24.
