Verdict on 2 Bagerhat war criminals trial Tuesday

The International Crimes Tribunal-1 (ICT-1) on Tuesday will deliver its verdict on the cases against Sheikh Sirajul Islam alias Kashai Siraj and Khan Akram Hossain filed for their crimes against humanity during the Liberation War in 1971.
A three-member ICT-1 bench, led by its chairman Justice M Enayetur Rahim, fixed the date on Wednesday, UNB reported.
On June 23, the tribunal concluded the hearing of arguments from both sides on the trial of 1971 war crimes allegedly committed by Sheikh Sirajul Islam alias Kashai Siraj, Khan Akram Hossain and Abdul Latif Talukder, and kept its verdict pending for any day.
Among them, Abdul Latif Talukder died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital on July 28.
The two suspected Razakars are facing seven charges, including killing, mass killing, torture and arson attack, during the Liberation War.
The tribunal on November 5, 2014 framed charges against them for their involvement in crimes against humanity during the Liberation War.
Police arrested accused Khan Akram Hossain, Abdul Latif Talukder and Sheikh Sirajul Islam on June 3, June 11 and July 21 respectively.
