Verizon reports fewer quarterly subscriber losses

Tuesday, 23 April 2024

NEW YORK, Apr 22 (Reuters): Verizon Communications said on Monday it lost fewer-than-expected wireless subscribers in the first quarter thanks to its flexible plans and streaming bundles offering discounted pricing for services such as Netflix and Warner Bros Discovery's Max.
Shares of the US telecom firm rose 2.5 per cent in premarket trading.
It lost 68,000 monthly bill-paying wireless phone subscribers between January and March - a seasonally soft period for the industry after the holiday quarter.
