Vermicelli, noodles sales drop in Ctg

The sale of vermicelli and noodles, two popular items for entertaining guests during the Eid-ul-Fitr, has declined in Chittagong this year 'due to negative media reports' during Ramadan, reports bdnews24.com.
Shopkeepers in the port city said the news on the presence of lead and other additives in Maggie noodles in India and manufacturing of vermicelli in unhygienic environment in Chittagong had hit the sale of the two items.
