VGF starts in Mymensingh

MYMENSINGH, Sept 24 (BSS): The government has taken steps to distribute special vulnerable group feeding (VGF) cards for the flood-affected people in the district.
Under the programme the government has allotted 500 tonnes of rice for the flood-affected people of eight upazilas of the district for the month of September.
DRRO (District Relief and Rehabilation Officer) office sources said distribution of VGF cards for rice has been completed in four upazilas in the district. Upazilas are Sadar, Ishwarganj, Trishal and Dubaura.
Concerned sources said of the total allocation against the cards is as follows 132 tonnes against 13,200 cards in Haluaghat Upazila, 70 tonnes against 7000 cards in Dubarua Upazila, 102 tonnes against 10260 cards in Sadar Upazila, 80 tonnes against 8,000 cards in Phulpur Upazila, 80 tonnes against 8000 cards in Gaffargaon Upazila, 20 tonnes against 2000 cards in Trishal Upazila and two tonnes of rice against 2,000 cards in Muktagachha Upazila.
