HANOI, Aug 28 (Xinhua): Vietnam is expected to have it's first and biggest center for supplying raw materials and accessories to the garment and footwear sectors next year, Vietnam News newspaper reported today.
The center, which has already been constructed in Di An district of southern Binh Duong province occupying 16 hectares with investment of 12 million US dollars in the first stage, is targeted to ease the overwhelming dependence on imported materials for garment industry.
The center will include a wholesale market, likely accommodating 1,250 stalls; office and showroom area; and a bonded warehouse which may store up to 20,000 tons of goods, the paper said.
China 's mainland and Taiwan are the leading sources of imported materials, said the paper.
