Village doctor chopped to death in Jessore

JESSORE, Jan 28 (BSS): A village doctor was hacked to death by a gang of miscreants at Magura Bazaar under Abhaynagor upazila of the district Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Chaytonna Mandol, 48, also a local Awami League leader.
Abhaynagor Thana OC Mollah Khabir Uddin said armed miscreants numbering 8 to 10 entered his medicine store 'Sobuj Medical Hall' at around 8:30 pm and chopped Mandol indiscriminately. He died on the spot. They also set fire to the shop.
On information, fire brigade and police rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control.
The body was sent to Jessore Hospital morgue for post mortem.
A murder case was filed with Abhaynagor Police Station in this connection.
