Violence against women

The message that "paradise lies under the feet of your mother" reflects the kind of respect a woman deserves for her sacrifice. That, however, contrasts today's reality when women fall victim to harassment, torture, rape and killing. Violence against women proves not only misogyny but also culture of impunity in society. Women as victims are often blamed for certain occurrence.
A society needs to feel guilty when one of its member, be it man or woman, is victimised. We are yet to establish an order that can ensure punishment to offenders and due respect to women
