Vocational training for dropped out youths emphasised

RANGPUR, May 20 (BSS): Speakers at a project inception meeting and agreement singing programme have stressed on providing vocational training to the dropped out adolescents in rural areas to create employment opportunities for them.
RDRS Bangladesh organised the event on Monday to launch 'Professional Opportunity for Food Security-Vocational Education Training (PROOFS-VET) Project and Tri Parties Agreement Signing Programme' with the assistance of ICCO Cooperation.
Kishoreganj Upazila Chairman Rashidul Islam attended the occasion, held at Kishoreganj upazila parishad hall room in Nilphamari district, as the chief guest with Kishoreganj Upazila Nirbahi Officer Siddikur Rahman in the chair.
Kishoreganj Upazila Vice-chairmen Shirin Akhter and AN Ruhul Islam addressed the project inception meeting, being participated by the 250 dropped out adolescents and youths, as the special guests.
Programme Coordinator of RDRS Bangladesh for Nilphamari Rashedul Arefin, Capacity Building Officer of ICCO Cooperation Arshad Anis, it's Content Officer Rahel Islam, Community Mobiliser Dipak Chandra Nath, federation members and guardians addressed, among others.
A tri-party agreement between the participants, trainers/guides and project authorities was also signed for successful implementation of the project to create adequate job opportunities for the adolescents and youths in their localities.
