Voluntarism for a beautiful society

Wednesday, 11 December 2024

Voluntary service is a humanitarian act. Every stratum of society has volunteers who, setting aside their self-interest, devote their time and resources to the welfare of others. Volunteers work in various social welfare organisations. With the goal of serving and improving society, they stand by the helpless at any time of day or night. In the context of Bangladesh, volunteers play a significant role. They are dedicated to the needs of the people. Every year, during floods, volunteers from all over the country rush to help the flood victims. They engage in fundraising, collecting dry food, clothing, and various other activities across the country.
The dedication of volunteers in rescue operations is commendable. Every winter, volunteers are seen distributing blankets and winter clothes to the needy on the streets. Volunteers are the first to take the initiative to rehabilitate people affected by various natural disasters.
Currently, in a situation where the prices of commodities are soaring and low-income people are struggling to make ends meet, volunteers have taken the initiative to sell goods, vegetables, fish, and meat at low prices. The dedication of volunteers in ensuring the safety and security of people in society is enviable.
The scope of the work of volunteers in society is vast. We need to have a positive attitude towards volunteers to build a beautiful society. We should refrain from belittling or mistreating volunteers.
We should come forward to help them and support their work. Volunteers are the lifeblood of society. We must express our gratitude to them. If the government provides special free training to volunteers, the dedication of volunteers will increase further. Human development will also increase. Through such social service activities, the bond of love among people increases and relationships become stronger. The more active the volunteers are, the more peacefully and undisturbed the people of society can live.
