Voters decrease by 19.44pc in BCC

BARISAL, Dec 1 (UNB): The number of voters enrolled in the new voters' list for the Barisal City Corporation (BCC) has decreased by 19.44 per cent compared to the previous list, despite registering the floating people.
This drop in the number of voters was revealed in the statistics found from Barisal district election office after the completion of its data collection and registration of eligible voters of the BCC recently.
Election office sources said 1,76,364 persons were registered in the new voters' list of the BCC this year compared to 2,18,925 persons in the last voters' list. This shows 42,561 voters less than the previous list.
