VP Nur leaves for S'pore for treatment

Gono Odhikar Parishad President Nurul Haque Nur has left for Singapore to undergo advanced medical treatment.
He left Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the capital on a Biman Bangladesh flight on Monday morning.
He was accompanied by his personal physician, Dr. Sazzad Hossain Russel, Associate Professor at the Department of Orthopedic and Spine Surgery at Bangladesh Medical University.
Nur will receive treatment at Mount Elizabeth Hospital.
Earlier, on the night of 29 August 2025, a clash broke out between activists of Nur's party and the Jatiya Party in the capital's Kakrail area.
As the situation escalated, police and army personnel charged batons to bring the situation under control. Nur was seriously injured during the law enforcers' action.
