Wage Board monitoring team to visit newspaper offices from next week

A tripartite monitoring team for implementation of the seventh Wage Board Award will start visiting newspaper offices from next week to exchange views with managers and employees.brThe decision came at a meeting in the city Sunday with the Department of Films and Publications (DFP) Director General and monitoring team President Ms Qamrunnahar in the chair, reports UNB.brThe meeting also decided that the team members, during their visit, would look into appointment letters, salary statements and other related documents of the journalists, officials and employees.brJournalists, workers and employees, who are deprived of wage board benefits, can lodge complaints in writing directly to the president of the monitoring team. In this connection, the team will conduct monitoring works keeping the names and identities of complainants' secret, the statement said.brThe monitoring team has requested all to cooperate with it in implementing the seventh Wage Board Award.brAlamgir Mohiuddin of BSP, Matiur Rahman Chowdhury of NOAB, Monjurul Ahsan Bulbul and Ruhul Amin Gazi of Sangbadik-Sramik-Karmachari Oikya Parishad, DFP Director M Akhtaruzzaman and member secretary of the monitoring team and DFP Deputy Director Zakir Hossain took part in the meeting.
