Wahed new Nilphamari chamber president

NILPHAMARI, Oct 26: Md Abdul Wahed has been elected president, Md Imtiaj senior vice president and Azizul Islam vice president of Nilphamari Chamber of Commerce and Industries (NCCI) for the 2008-2010 session.
A newly-elected 17-member executive committee of the chamber elected the leaders at a meeting held at the chamber's office in the district town recently.
Earlier, the biannual election of Nilphamari chamber was held recently to elect the executive committee of the district trade body for the year 2008-2010.
A total of 278 general voters participated in the election to elect 12 executive members from this category of the body. The 12 executive members elected from general category were Md Abdul Wahed, Md Imtiaj, Hazi Md Taslim, Nasiruddin Ahmed, Md Faruq Hossain, Bishwajit Bhoumic Bappi, Moyej Uddin, Mosabber Hossain Manu, Mir Selim Faruq, Md Shahidullah, Shamsul Hoque and Sagar Kumar Kundu.
NCCI sources said another five executive members were elected from 83 associate members. Thereby total members of executive committee of the body stood at 17 including both general category and associate category and they elected the office bearers of the district trade body.
