Wall collapse kills girl, injures five

An eight-year-old girl was killed and five others were injured when a boundary wall collapsed on them at Segunbagicha in the city Thursday afternoon, the police said.
An officer of Shahbagh police station told the FE that the incident took place at about 2:45pm when workers of an underconstruction building were stockpiling soil against the old boundary wall at 25/1 Topkhana Road.
Of the injured, Helal (10) Nazma (7) and Rikta (8) were rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where ill-fated Rikta succumbed to her injuries.
The other injured, Tusher, a Tejgaon College student, Foysal, a Jagannath University student, and one Faruque were admitted to other city hospitals.
The police officer said landowner Abdul Khalek allotted this plot to a real state company, Ivory Builders Ltd, which started constructing a high-rise building at the place.
