War crimes charges against ex-JP leader Jabbar

The prosecution has pressed war crimes charges, including genocide, against former Jatiya Party lawmaker Abdul Jabbar. The formal charges were submitted to the Tribunal’s registrar AKM Nasiruddin Mahmud on Sunday. Jabbar has been charged with five types of crimes against humanity during Bangladesh’s Liberation War in 1971. The charges include perpetration of genocide. Jabbar, a former Pirozpur Mathbaria MP, is currently believed to be living in the US, according to bdnews24.com.
