War crimes report against 3 finalised

The investigation wing of the International Crimes Tribunal has finalised its report against three people accused of crimes against humanity. The documents will be submitted to the Tribunal this (Tuesday) morning. The three accused are Md Forkan Mollick of Patuakhali district, Md Mohidur Rahman, and Md Afsar Hossain, both of Chapainawabganj district. Abdul Hannan Khan, the Chief Co-ordinator of the Investigation Committee said on Monday Forkan Mollick was already in jail on charges of crimes against humanity committed during Bangladesh’s independence struggles in 1971. The other two have other charges against them. Forkan has been accused of killing eight people, organising mass killings, four cases of rape, forcibly converting three people, evicting 13 families and forcing them to leave the country, besides vandalising and looting 64 homes and shops in 1971. He has also been accused of being involved in five cases of arson. Mohidur and Afsar have been accused of kidnapping, holding people hostage, murders, loot, and arson. Ranjan Roy has investigated Forkan Mollick’s case, while the others have been probed by Altafur Rahman, according to a news agency.
