War criminals to be tried on soil of Bangladesh

Shipping Minister Shahj-ahan Khan has said the trial of war criminals will be held on the soil of Bangladesh.
The minister said this while speaking at a discussion meeting as chief guest organised by the Millennium Human Rights and Journalist Foundation on "Rights of Freedom Fighters" in the city Monday, reports BSS.
"People of the country have to be united to extend cooperation to the present government for the trial of war criminals," he added.
The minister called upon the freedom fighters to help the government build Sonar Bangla as dreamt by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
The minister said the freedom fighters are the best sons of the soil, who fought a nine-month bloody war against the Pakistani occupation forces for the independence of Bangladesh.
He called upon all to work unitedly for the welfare of the people and the nation with the spirit of War of Liberation.
Among others, lawmakers Golam Dastigir Gazi Bir Protik, Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal and former Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General (retd) Harun-or-Rashid Bir Protik spoke on the occasion.
Another report from Manikganj adds: State Minister for Liberation War Affairs Captain (retd) ABM Tajul Islam has said that preparations for trial of war criminal has already been started.
The state minister said this while addressing the concluding ceremony of a 15-day Bijoy Mela at Manikganj Government High School playground as the chief guest Sunday.
He also said the verdict of Bangabandhu murder case would be executed soon.
