Ward commissioner awarded 10 yrs imprisonment in Noakhali

NOAKHALI, July 13 (UNB): A court here Thursday convicted a ward commissioner of Bashurhat Pourashava and awarded him 10 years imprisonment in an arms case.
The convict is ABM Siddique, commissioner of ward no-9 of Bashurhat pourashava.
According to the prosecution, joint forces raided the house of Siddique and arrested him along with one pipe gun and two bombs on February 11, this year. He was later handed over to the police.
A case was filed and police after investigation submitted charge sheet against him.
After examining the records and witnesses, Additional District and Sessions Judge M Mojammel handed down the verdict.
