Wari emerge group champion in Independence Day Hockey

Wari Club emerged group A champion in the Lyric Group Independence Day Hockey Competition beating Bangladesh Army by 3-2 goals at the Moulana Bhashani National Hockey Stadium in the city Tuesday, reports UNB. Hasan Jubayer Niloy struck twice while Golam Mostafa Manik netted another goal for Wari Club. Sabbir Hossain Rana and Krishno Kumar netted one goal apiece for the Bangladesh Army. Earlier, in another group A match, Bangladesh Police recorded their first win in the meet with a 4-1 goal victory over Rampura KC at the same venue. In the day's match, Prince scored three goals while Rana netted the lone one for Bangladesh Police, which already made their exit from the meet losing their previous two group matches. Jewel scored the lone goal for Rampura KC.
