Warid awards prizes to winners of cricket quiz

Warid Telecom Tuesday handed over prizes to winners of the first ever Warid Cricket Quiz, said a press release.
Muneer Farooqui, CEO of Warid Telecom, along with other officials of the company, gave away gift-hampers including handsets to 13 winners at a ceremony at Warid Telecom office at Banani in the city.
Warid Telecom organised an SMS-based cricket quiz for its general subscribers from May 17 to May 29, 2007 on the occasion of cricket team's Tour of India. During the 13-day contest, each subscriber could take part in an SMS-based, conveniently interactive, quiz competition. The top scorer of each day won a Sony Ericsson W 200i handset, and many other Warid gifts.
The winners are S M Nadeem, Masudur Rahman, Md. Rashed Chowdhury, Md. Shofiqul Islam, Tanvir Adnan, Mohammad Shahed, Tushar Ghosh, Md. Sabbir Younus, Md. Anwar Pasha, Md. Siddiqur Rahman Bhuiyan, S.M. Khaledul Ahsan and Md. Anwar Hossain.
"Warid has been launched with the most modern NGN (Next Generation Network) in Bangladesh, and has presence in all major cities and highways in the country already", said Muneer Farooqui. "We shall always try to exceed customers' expectation by bringing you innovative product and service solutions with technological edge", he said.
Warid Telecom launched its commercial operations on May 10 this year. A subsidiary of the Abu Dhabi Group, one of the largest groups in the Middle East, Warid Telecom was awarded the 6th licence for mobile telecommunications by the Bangladesh Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (BTRC) in December 2005.
Just within less than a month of its commercial launch, Warid Telecom covers 28 district towns and more than 70 per cent of the population of the country, making this the biggest ever launch of mobile coverage in the history of Bangladesh.
