Warid, Bank Al Falah distribute relief goods in Sirajganj, Bogra

Warid Telecom (WT) and Bank Al Falah Limited (BAFL) jointly distributed relief materials among the flood-affected people in Sirajganj and Bogra Tuesday.
A team of WT and BAFL -- the two Dhabi Group subsidiaries in the country -- handed over relief materials to 600 people in Sonatala area of Haripur in Bogra.
The team also distributed 600 relief packs among the flood-hit people at Dhekuria Bazar under Kazipur Upazila in Sirajganj Monday.
The relief packs included rice, lentil, salt, flattened rice, molasses, candle, match, oral saline and essential drugs etc.
Among others, BAFL Country Head Majedur Rahman along with WT GM (Marketing and Sales) Naveed Saeed, GM (Government and Operator Relations) Ashraful H Chowdhury, DGM (Logistics) Ismat Ahmed Chowdhury and Regional Sales Manager Sohel Imroje Sayeed took part in the relief distribution programme. The representatives of the joint forces, local administration and local franchise of WT were also present on the occasion.
WT has also set up medical camps in Sirajganj and Bogra. One doctor and one nurse provided free treatment and medicines to the people in the three-day camp.
The company started its countrywide flood relief activities on August 8 in Manikganj. On that day WT CEO Muneer Faruqui handed over relief materials to 500 people at different flood camps in the district.
As part of its massive flood aid programme, WT has also launched an SMS campaign to raise fund for the flood-hit people. The Warid subscribers can donate Tk 10, Tk 20, Tk 50 and more through SMS. The proceeds from the SMS campaign will be donated to the Chief Adviser's flood relief fund.
