Warid brings Black's latest album 'Abar'

Bangladesh's one of the top rock bands 'Black' Thursday launched its new album titled "Abar" in cooperation with Warid Telecom, the fourth largest mobile phone operator in the country.

Warid Telecom, the fastest growing mobile phone operator in Bangladesh, has sponsored the third album of Black as part of its commitment to promote quality music through nurturing talents in the music arena. The rock band launched the album after a break of five years.

Senior Manager (Marketing) of Warid Telecom, Zeeshan K. Huq unveiled the latest album of the rock band at a press conference jointly organised by Warid Telecom and music company G-Series at Basundhara City.

Proprietor of G-Series Nazmul Huq Bhuiyan, Marketing Services Manager of Warid Telecom Asif Ahmed, lead vocal of Black Jon Kabir and singer Saidus Salehin Khaled (Sumon) also attended the press conference.

Black, one of the most popular rock bands in the country, launched its first album in 2001 titled "Amar Prithibi" and second album titled "Uthshober Por" in 2002 with the hit song "Proshnobodhok Chinno".

Under the sponsorship deal, every Warid customer will get Black's latest album free of cost if he or she buys a Zem prepaid connection.

This offer will be available at all Warid franchise and business centres across the country from Thursday.

On top of this, ABAR's songs would be available exclusively on Warid as 'Caller Tunes' for a certain period.

While launching the album, Zeeshan K Haq said, "We have a keen interest in supporting local talents in music industry as we intend to help foster creativity and talent in the sector."

He also said Warid is not only a mobile service provider but much more than that; it is closely associated with music and adopted it as one of the brand pillars of Zem prepaid." He hoped that the new album of Black would be a grand success like the previous ones.

Meanwhile, Warid Telecom rewarded its top 50 GPRS users in a separate programme at the same venue.

Warid Telecom, a subsidiary of UAE-based Abu Dhabi Group, launched its commercial operation in Bangladesh on May 10, 2007 as the sixth mobile phone operator. Within one year, the company became fourth largest operator by acquiring over three million subscribers.

The Abu Dhabi Group has already invested US$500 million and will invest further US$ 250 million within a year to improve its network and quality of service.
