Warid Telecom covers country’s 56 districts

Warid Telecom has expanded its network to five more districts raising the total number of districts under Warid coverage to 56.
With the latest expansion, Warid Telecom has brought almost 90 per cent of Bangladesh under its strong Next Generation Network (NGN) technology. The sixth and youngest mobile company has emerged as the fastest growing mobile company in the country by reaching 56 districts within four months of operations.
Mymensingh, Jamalpur, Sherpur, Rajbari and Narail cities are now under Warid network. The expansion has enabled the company to further strengthen it presence in the North, Southwestern parts of the country.
The introducer of Next Generation Network (NGN) technology in Bangladesh, Warid Telecom's primary objective in the market is to ensure highest level of telecommunications service and customer care. So, expansion of Warid Telecom guarantees uninterrupted connectivity and absolute voice clarity.
Muneer Farooqui, CEO of Warid Telecom, said on the latest expansion to more cities: "We are now only five districts away to covering the whole of Bangladesh. And we have done this in less than six months time."
Warid Telecom has achieved over 1.5 million active subscribers in barely four months of operations recording the fastest subscriber growth by a mobile company in Bangladesh. The achievement proves to overwhelming response of the people to Warid.
Going in tandem with the expectation and commitment, Warid has introduced fantastic Value Added Services and best possible customer care. Opening its own Franchised Sales and Customer Care Centres in each of the five new districts on the very first day bears testimony to Warid's commitment to Bangladesh.
A subsidiary of the Abu Dhabi Group, one of the largest groups in the Middle East, Warid Telecom was awarded the 6th license for mobile telecommunications by the Bangladesh Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (BTRC) in December 2005 as part of a land-breaking MOU with the Board of Investment of Bangladesh. Before launching commercial operations on May 10 this year, Warid Telecom set an example in the telecommunications sector in the country by paying US$ 50 million (Tk 3.50 billion) as license fee.
Warid Telecom has emerged as a standard setter in the industry as the company has given many firsts to the country's telecommunications sector such as introduction of NGN Technology, 20 FnF, one second pulse for prepaid subscribers, below Taka 1 call rate to other operators, SIM Genie and payment of license fee.
