FE Report
Warid Telecom has introduced economy ISD facility, allowing its subscribers to make international calls at lower rates, said a press release.
Both the post-paid and the pre-paid subscribers of Warid can make overseas calls at rates as low as Tk 7.50 plus Warid charges, and thus save up to 70 per cent.
They can now talk to their near and dear ones in more than 55 countries including the US, the UK, Malaysia, Singapore, Italy, South Korea, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Germany, Hong Kong, China, Thailand, the Netherlands, and South Africa etc.
Earlier, they were charged Tk 18 to Tk 24 plus operator's tariff for a call to those countries.
To avail the facility the subscribers have to dial '012' before the desired telephone number. They do not require any additional deposit for the economy ISD service.
Since its launch on May 10, Warid Telecom has expanded its network to 35 districts covering the major cities and highways. A concern of the UAE-based Abu Dhabi Group, Warid is expanding its 'next generation network' at the fastest possible time to cover all areas across the country by the end of this year.
Warid has already crossed 0.5 million (5.0 lakh) subscribers mark, exemplifying the customers' enthusiasm about the mobile operator, the release added.
