Warm clothes for cold victims in Gaibandha

GAIBANDHA, Dec 26 (BSS): Social organizations here have started distributing warm clothes to the cold affected people of the district to mitigate the sufferings caused by cold wave.
Rotary Club of Gaibandha stood beside the cold affected distressed poor as part of its corporate social responsibilities and distributed warm clothes to them on Sunday in cooperation with North-West Rotary Club, Dhaka.
A gathering was also held on the premises of Ahammad Uddin Shah Shishu Niketan, School and College of the town in the afternoon.
Later, as many as 300 blankets were distributed to the cold victims of the town and its suburb to help them mitigate their sufferings.
Past district governor KM Zainul Abedin, president of Rotary Club of Gaibandha M. Nawsher Alam, past president Shahjada Anwarul Quadir and other members including the journalists were present on the occasion.
Earlier, another social organization 'Razanigandha' at Dariapur also distributed more than 200 warm clothes including 50 blankets to the cold affected distressed poor through holding a gathering on Dariapur Aman Ullah High School ground of Sadar Upazila on Saturday last.
Social worker Khandaker Ahad Ahmed attended the function and distributed the warm clothes to the cold victims as the chief guest and cultural personality Sarker Majibar Rahman was present as the special guest.
