Warm reception for Hasina in Abu Dhabi

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina arrived in Abu Dhabi on Saturday amid a warm reception on a 3-day official visit aiming to further strengthen Bangladesh’s bilateral relations with the oil-rich Gulf nation and increase manpower export. A VVIP flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines carrying the PM and her entourage reached Abu Dhabi International Airport at about 11:30am (UAE time). UAE Social Welfare Minister Mary Mohammad Khalfan Al Roumi and Bangladesh Ambassador to the UAE Mohammad Imran received Sheikh Hasina at the airport. A woman presented her a bouquet. From the airport, the Prime Minister in a ceremonial motorcade was taken to Hotel St Regis where she will be staying during her tour. Earlier, the Biman VVIP flight carrying the Prime Minister and her entourage left Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport around 8:30 am. During the three-day bilateral UAE tour, the Prime Minister will have meetings with UAE Mother of the Nation Sheikh Fatima, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and UAE Foreign Minister Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Abu Dhabi on Oct 26. Hasina will also attend a community reception there, according to UNB.
