Warrant against three for misappropriation of money

CHITTAGONG, August 21: A court in Chittagong issued today arrest warrant against one of the owners of Hotel Agrabad and two others in connection with a case of the misappropriation of money.
The court of divisional special judge of SM Ataur Rahman issued the order against HM Khurshid Ali, one of the owners of the hotel, sacked AGM (assistant general manager) of the hotel Jashim Uddin and director of Gulf (BD) Associates Quamrul Hasan. Proceedings of the case were stayed by an order of the High Court.
The case was lodged with the court on May 10, 1988 alleging that the accused had not imported eight thousand tons of rice worth Tk 58.5 million under a Letter of Credit (L/C) issued by a branch of the Pubali Bank. Anti-corruption inspector Shafiqul Islam investigated the case.
