Warrant issued for arrest of Fakhrul

Sunday, 14 September 2014

A Dhaka court issued Sunday a warrant for the arrest of BNP leader Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and two 18-party men in a case filed for vandalising and torching vehicles during the 18-party’s road blockade programme on December 9, 2012.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Yunus Khan passed the order after accepting the chargesheet in the case, according to a news agency.
The court issued the warrant for the arrest of the BNP acting secretary general and two others -- Mohammad Ali and Nasir -- as they did not appear before the court Sunday.
Additional Deputy Commissioner of Information Crimes and Investigation Branch of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Mohammad Anisur Rahman said Mirza Fakhrul was not an FIR-enlisted accused, but his name has been inserted in the chargesheet, according to a news agency.
