Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib al Hasan helped Guyana Amazon Warriors to defeat Trinbago Knight Riders by 37 runs to seal their berth in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) play-offs on Sunday, reports Cricbuzz.
Rahmanullah Gurbaz (60) also played a crucial role.
Amazon Warriors, placed second on the points table with nine points, also secured a place in the playoffs on home turf while the loss meant that Knight Riders won't progress to the playoffs for the first time in the tournament history.
In pursuit of a target of 174, Knight Riders had made a steady start, with the pair of Tim Seifert and Colin Munro sharing an opening stand of 32 in just over four overs before the former fell to Shakib.
With the required rate climbing to over 10 runs per over, Munro attempted a slog across the line off Imran Tahir but could only eke out an leading edge to the fielder stationed at covers.
