WASA bill payment thru' banks to ease clients sufferings

CHATTOGRAM, Feb 25: The Chattogram Water Supply and Sewerage Authority (WASA) has become the second civic agency in the country to arrange entire process of unitily bill payment through banks.
Earlier, its complaint-lodging process has gone online.
To implement its plans to make bill payment system through the financial institutions, Chattogram WASA signed agreements with four commercial banks for this purpose.
Deputy Managing Director (DMD) of Chattogram WASA Golam Hossain said implementation of this plan will make paying the WASA bills easier for its customers.
The system will lessen sufferings of the clients to a grat extent, he added.
It signed the deals with Mercantile Bank Limited, Shahajalal Islami Bank Limited, Southeast Bank Limited and ONE Bank Limited.
The Ctg WASA inked the agreement with Mercantile Bank today while deals deals with three other private commercial banks were signed yesterday.
DMD Golam Hossain and Deputy Managing Director of Mercantile Bank Adil Rahman put their pens on the agreement at a ceremony in the port city on Tuesday.
Agreements with ONE Bank, Shahajalal Islami Bank and Southeast Bank were signed at a function on Monday.
Managing Director of Chattogram WASA Engineer A K M Fazlullah, Chief Engineer Maksud Alam, Acting Secretary Fahmida Mostafa, Chief Accounts Officer Mohammed Jakir Hossain Bhuyan, Chief Revenue Officer Tauhidul Islam, System Analyst Shafiqul Bashar, Vice President of Mercantile Bank Limited Jashim Uddin and Assistant Vice President Tapon James Rojareo were present in today's function.
